15 - Film Certificate
when a film is rated 15, it is so no one under the age of 15 is allowed to watch this film. These films tend to include more sexual encounters, swearing and more gore and horror. this certificate is taken more seriously as these sort of films are aimed at an adult audience therefore not attempting to target the younger audience. films aimed at a teenage audience cut out a lot of violence in order to appeal to a wider audience. certain films such as the hungers games cut out 7 scenes of violence so that they could target their film at teenagers. 15 is a good rating to make a film at because it attracts a range of audience as can include a level of gore and a fair amount of swearing and violence which therefore make it more realistic. Also by attracting the older generation they are the people with the money therefore paying to watch or buying the film.
